ABOUT GUAVA
Guava is the voice platform built for regulated industries — the calls that have to be right. Trained on 10B+ live agent minutes and in regulated production since 2013, Guava gives companies a single, compliant system for every second of a call. From healthcare and banking to insurance, Guava powers mission-critical voice workflows for organizations where compliance and call resolution are non-negotiable.
We are a fast-growing AI company backed by deep engineering roots — Stanford, MIT, NASA — and we are building the team that will take us to the next level. That starts with getting the right people in the door.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Guava is hiring its first in-house Recruiter & HR Manager, based out of our Los Angeles office. This is a recruiting-first role — your primary focus will be building out Guava’s revenue organization by sourcing, evaluating, and closing top talent for roles across sales, customer success, and field engineering.
As we grow and bring more people on board, you will also serve as Guava’s lead HR presence — owning onboarding, building out people policies, and ensuring every new hire has a great experience from day one. This is a builder role for someone who can operate as a sharp recruiter today and grow into a well-rounded people leader as the company scales. If you thrive in ambiguity, take pride in both relationships and process, and want to leave a real mark on a high-growth AI company, this is your seat.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Revenue Recruiting
– Own full-cycle recruiting for the revenue organization, including Account Executives, Customer Success Representatives, and Forward Deploy Engineers (FDEs)
– Partner with revenue leadership to understand hiring needs, define role requirements, and build effective sourcing strategies
– Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, outbound outreach, and referral networks
– Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates, moving quickly without sacrificing quality
– Manage and optimize the candidate experience from first contact through offer and close
– Track recruiting metrics and report on pipeline health, time-to-fill, and offer acceptance rates
HR & People Operations
– Serve as Guava’s primary HR contact, supporting employees across the full employment lifecycle
– Lead onboarding for all new hires, ensuring a smooth, high-quality experience from day one
– Build and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and people programs that reflect Guava’s values and culture
– Partner with leadership on compensation benchmarking, performance processes, and team structure
– Manage compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation
– Identify and recommend HR tools, systems, and vendors to support a scaling team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
– 5+ years of experience in recruiting, with a track record of closing GTM and revenue roles
– Demonstrated success sourcing and hiring Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, Forward Deployed Engineers, or similar go-to-market talent
– Experience operating in a startup or high-growth environment — you have built pipelines and processes, not just filled reqs
– Comfortable running the full recruiting lifecycle: sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, and closing offers
– Some HR generalist experience or strong working knowledge of onboarding, HR policy, and employment basics
– Highly organized with excellent follow-through; you can juggle multiple open roles and context-switch without dropping the ball
– Clear, direct communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in people
– Based in or willing to commute to Los Angeles; this is a full-time, in-office role
NICE TO HAVES
– Deeper HR generalist background: employee relations, compensation benchmarking, performance processes, or compliance
– Experience at a B2B SaaS or AI company
– Familiarity with ATS platforms (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, or similar)
– SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification
– Experience with Trinet Zenefits
– Familiar with H1B, the LCA and the Public Access File (PAF)
– Experience building or contributing to onboarding programs, employee handbooks, or DEI initiatives

– Direct access to leadership and a genuine seat at the table for people strategy
– A team with deep technical credibility and a decade of regulated production experience
