Vice President of People
Private Equity | Real Assets, Energy & Infrastructure
Location: Greater Los Angeles Area
Comp: $225,000 – $300,000 base + bonus
A highly regarded, vertically integrated private equity platform focused on real assets, energy, and infrastructure is seeking a Vice President of People to lead and evolve the HR function across a growing investment organization.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role for a true builder. The firm is well-capitalized, institutional-grade, and operating at scale, but the opportunity is not about maintaining an overly built-out HR machine. It’s about partnering closely with senior leadership to shape a thoughtful, modern people function that can support continued growth across both the corporate and operating sides of the business.
The Opportunity
- Serve as the senior HR leader for a performance-driven private equity environment
- Partner directly with Managing Directors and executive leadership as a strategic thought partner to the business
- Build and elevate the people function across talent, organizational design, performance management, compensation, and employee experience
- Create scalable HR infrastructure, processes, and programs that fit a lean, entrepreneurial platform
- Balance strategy with execution: this is a hands-on leadership role, not one built around delegation alone
- Bring strong judgment, presence, and EQ to a sophisticated, fast-moving organization
Ideal Background
- 10+ years of progressive HR / People leadership experience
- Experience within private equity, real assets, real estate investment, or a similarly sophisticated investment environment
- Track record building, upgrading, or transforming HR infrastructure in a growth-oriented organization
- Comfortable operating in a lean environment with a mix of strategic and hands-on work
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trust quickly
- High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a practical, business-minded approach
This is not an administrative HR role, nor is it the right fit for someone looking to sit above the work. The firm is seeking a polished, entrepreneurial HR leader who can operate as a true partner to leadership, build where needed, and bring both strategic perspective and executional follow-through.
