For our Finance team at Carhartt EMEA/PAC, we are now looking for a Financial Controller.
In cooperation with the Finance Manager, the Financial Controller is responsible for the preparation, consolidation, and reporting of the monthly- and annual financial accounts of Carhartt Holdings (EMEA/PAC). He/she assists the Finance Manager in preparing the yearly financial budgets of Carhartt Holdings and related companies. The Financial Controller has a variety of duties and responsibilities, leading to accurate, timely and efficient financial processes.
The Financial Controller reports to the Finance Manager. This person works closely with all members of the finance team as well as other teams, he/she replaces the Sr. Financial Administrator when absent.
Your duties and responsibilities
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and act as a business partner to the department managers (Management Team); understand business objectives and goals as well as business and finance best practices to recommend improvements to financial processes to drive financial efficiency.
- Controlling (analysis, reconciliation, reporting) of the ledger accounts of all entities.
- Together with the Finance Manager, manage and coordinate monthly and yearly closing.
- Liaise with the external auditors during the annual year end audit.
- Together with the Finance Manager, direct the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and coordinate consolidation of the EMEA/PAC company budgets, financial plans and departmental budgets with the Sr. Manager BPFO, department leaders (Management Team) as well as the global Finance & Accounting Team.
- Control and analysis of financial data and processes in preparation for monthly and year closing, such as: P&L variances; Discounts and margins; Invoices and goods still to be received; Stock discrepancies (GL journal entries); reconciliation of stock and administration in SAP; Costs third parties/suppliers (warehouse, courier etc.); Stock management reporting.
- Support the activities of the Accounts Payable team such as: Processing of purchase invoices from Carhartt Inc. and licensee partners; Processing of purchase invoices for general expenses; Reconciliation / matching purchase invoices with purchase orders; Reconciliation of the intercompany accounts with affiliated companies; Accurate and timely VAT declarations in several European countries; Accurate payment and matching of all purchase invoices (general expenses); Processing of E-com sales and expenses.
- Assist the Manager Finance with the pricing process (from cost price to selling price, margins etc.).
- Support the Finance Manager in overseeing and managing the financial activities related to import duties/warehousing.
- Knowing the objectives of the business, pro-actively analyzing reported metrics and data to gather information and prepare monthly reports for (senior) Management Team reviews.
- Collaborate with the US Finance team regarding monthly/quarterly/yearly financial closing activities.
- SAP key user for the Finance team.
- Contribute to meeting the KPI’s, targets and deadlines of the Finance team.
What are you bringing to the table?
- Bachelor’s degree in finance & Control, Business Administration or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant working experience, of which 1- 2 years in a finance and/or accounting role including consolidation of accounts and international VAT declarations.
- Strongly developed numerical insight and analytical ability.
- Strong attention to detail. Must be able to manage several tasks concurrently and keep overview.
- Proactive thinker who will support Manager Finance and finance team members with administrative and organizational process insights.
- Working experience in an international wholesale organization and/or retail / consumer goods organization.
- Demonstrates potential leadership skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills; high level of proficiency in Excel and SAP S4/HANA.
- Working knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and multi-lingual abilities: excellent (business) level of the English language both written and verbal, proficient knowledge of the Dutch language is an advantage.
- Living in thegreater area of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Salary range for this role: € 4.600 – 5.750 gross per month, depending on level of expertise and work experience.
