Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Head of Human Resources to build and lead the HR function for a growing, private equity-backed company undergoing active M&A and integration. This leader will establish scalable people processes, support a distributed field workforce, and play a critical role in diligence and post-acquisition integration.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a build-and-scale environment—balancing strategy with execution—while driving performance, engagement, and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead the HR function from the ground up, including policies, programs, and infrastructure
- Design and implement scalable processes across the full employee lifecycle (hire to retire)
- Lead HR workstreams for M&A, including due diligence, integration planning, and execution
- Assess organizational structure, talent, compensation, and HR risks during acquisitions
- Develop and execute integration playbooks, including onboarding, policy alignment, and systems integration
- Drive cultural integration and change management across acquired businesses
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning aligned to growth and acquisition strategy
- Oversee and support full-cycle recruiting across corporate and field technician populations
- Develop HR programs to support a distributed, hourly workforce and improve retention and productivity
- Serve as the primary lead for employee relations, ensuring consistent and compliant practices
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple entities
- Implement performance management processes aligned with business objectives and value creation goals
- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs, including harmonization post-acquisition
- Lead, develop, and mentor a small HR team (Recruiter and HR Generalist)
- Provide HR metrics, insights, and reporting to executive leadership and private equity sponsors
