About the role
As IT Infrastructure Specialist you act as first point of contact for IT-related issues on site. You diagnose the issue, resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues. You support the users with Windows workstations and laptops, Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Office) and printers, scanners and peripherals. In case of complex issues, you escalate to second/third level support and follow through until resolution has been accomplished. All incidents and solutions need to be documented in the ticket system.
Key Responsibilities
First Level User Support
- Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues at the local site
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Support users with:
- Windows workstations and laptops
- Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office)
- Printers, scanners and peripherals
- Escalate complex issues to second/third level support and follow through until resolution
- Document incidents and solutions in the IT ticketing system
Local Network & Connectivity
- Operate and maintain the local LAN and WLAN infrastructure
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot:
- Network switches (access switches, basic core/distribution concepts)
- VLAN configurations (segmentation, tagging, port assignments)
- Network access points and wired network ports
- Support and troubleshoot DNS and DHCP services at site level:
- Understanding of DNS name resolution and common failure scenarios
- DHCP scope configuration, IP assignment issues, and lease troubleshooting
- Ensure reliable network connectivity for:
- Office users
- Printers and peripherals
- LANconnected production and laboratory equipment
- Coordinate network changes with central IT and ensure alignment with security and segmentation concepts
Printers & Peripheral Devices
- Install, configure, and maintain network printers and multifunction devices
- Troubleshoot printing issues (drivers, queues, network connectivity)
- Coordinate with vendors for maintenance, consumables, and repairs
- Maintain documentation of installed devices and configurations
LAN-Connected Production & Laboratory Equipment
- Provide IT support for LANconnected production, laboratory, and analytical devices
- Ensure reliable network connectivity for:
- Production equipment
- Laboratory instruments
- Quality and measurement systems
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and external vendors on ITrelated topics
- Ensure changes are documented and aligned with IT and quality requirements (e.g. GxP environments, where applicable)
Local Servers & Infrastructure
- Support and maintain local servers (physical hosts and virtual machines) in coordination with central IT
- Perform basic infrastructure administration tasks, including:
- User and device access administration
- Monitoring availability of DNS, DHCP, and core network services
- Monitoring of backups and verification of restores
- Supporting patching, updates, and configuration changes as instructed
- Assist with troubleshooting networkrelated server issues (name resolution, IP conflicts, routing at site level)
IT Asset & Documentation Management
- Install and configure local IT equipment (PCs, notebooks, network devices)
- Maintain IT asset inventories for the site
- Documentation of:
- Network layouts
- Device configurations
- Local procedures and known issues
- Support audits and internal reviews by providing accurate IT documentation
Your Profile
- Education: minimum MBO-4 level
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Solid knowledge of Windows Client operating systems
- Solid knowledge of basic networking (LAN, VLAN, WLAN, TCP/IP)
- Solid knowledge of VLAN concepts and switch configurations
- Solid knowledge of DNS and DHCP fundamentals, including troubleshooting of common issues of Windows Server as well as firewalls/routers
- Strong problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users
- High attention to detail and a “right-first-time” approach
- Structured and reliable working style
- Good documentation habits
- Strong SAP / ERP and CRM system capability
- Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Experience supporting segmented networks in production or laboratory environments is a preference
- Understanding of network security concepts (segmentation, access control) is a preference
- Experience with working in a global team is a preference
- Familiar with ticketing systems is a preference
