A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a People Operations Specialist to join its collaborative and mission-driven team. This individual will play a vital role in supporting the organization’s people initiatives through recruitment coordination, onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, employee engagement efforts, and day-to-day HR operations. Key Responsibilities of the People Operations Specialist:
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring compliance with company policies and record retention requirements.
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers by providing guidance on HR policies, benefits, payroll processes, and general employment-related questions.
- Support payroll administration, timekeeping reviews, benefits enrollment activities, and employee data updates in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, reference checks, and onboarding support.
- Assist with employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, team events, and communication efforts that enhance workplace culture.
- Coordinate leave administration processes, maintain required documentation, and support compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Contribute to performance management, compensation planning, process improvement initiatives, and other special projects within the People Operations function.
Qualifications of the People Operations Specialist:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Psychology, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources, People Operations, Talent Acquisition, or employee relations experience.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and employee benefits administration; Paycom experience strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze employee data accurately.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, service-oriented approach to employee support.
- High level of discretion, attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling confidential information and sensitive employee matters.
