Role Description This is a contract Human Resources Manager role based in New York, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows for a combination of on-site and work-from-home days. The Human Resources Manager will oversee day-to-day HR operations, including employee lifecycle management, onboarding and offboarding, and maintaining accurate HR records and documentation. This role will support managers and team members with employee relations, performance management processes, and policy interpretation while ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws and company standards. The HR Manager will also contribute to talent acquisition, coordinate interviews, support offer processes, and help design and implement HR programs that reinforce alignment, culture, and operational clarity. In addition, the role will partner with leadership to identify HR process improvements, support training and development initiatives, and help build systems that scale with the organization’s growth.
Qualifications
- Experience in core HR operations, including employee lifecycle management, onboarding, offboarding, and HR administration.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR policies, particularly in New York and U.S. jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated skills in employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and coaching managers.
- Experience with talent acquisition processes, such as sourcing, interviewing, and supporting hiring decisions.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, HR analytics, and basic reporting to support decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust across teams and levels.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site collaboration and remote work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred but not required.
- Experience working in consulting, logistics, operations-focused, or high-growth environments is a plus.
