IT Operations Engineer
Infrastructure · Automation · Platform Transition · Benelux
You keep things running today — and help build what comes next. If you thrive at the intersection of stable operations and forward-thinking architecture, this one’s for you.
About our client
Our client is the leading Data-as-a-Service platform for product and article information in the Benelux, serving industries including hardware, tools, construction materials, paint, and automotive. They help suppliers, procurement organisations, and retailers centrally manage, standardise, and commercially leverage their product data.
Their platform transforms raw supplier data into high-quality, structured product information — and is continuously expanding. AI plays a growing role in how they improve data quality, automate workflows, and scale operations. The IT landscape is in active transition, and this role sits right at the heart of that journey.
The role
As IT Operations Engineer you will keep the current IT environment stable, secure, and reliable while playing an active part in the transition to a new platform. You are the connecting link between the business, external hosting partners, and the development team.
Day to day, that means staying ahead of issues before they become incidents, acting as the technical escalation point for complex problems, and making sure that ongoing operations and platform changes run smoothly side by side. You will also have scope to build — scripting, automating, and improving internal tooling, including AI-assisted processes.
This is a role for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and genuinely enjoys the mix of keeping things solid while pushing things forward.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the continuity of the current ecosystem and its integrations with the new platform — identifying bottlenecks such as server updates or connectivity issues before they have impact;
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex second-line support issues — FTP access problems, failing XML imports, integration failures;
- Write and optimise scripts and maintain internal tooling, including AI-assisted automation and translation processes;
- Support colleagues with technical questions around business applications (including WordPress and similar platforms);
- Contribute to technical decisions on security, architecture, and large dataset processing;
- Keep the technical knowledge base up to date and ensure processes are clearly documented.
Your profile
- Bachelor's working and thinking level in IT or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience;
- Solid knowledge of MS-SQL, XML, JSON, and C# .NET;
- Experience with or genuine interest in AI-assisted development and emerging technologies — you’re curious about what’s coming next, not just what works today;
- Analytical, precise, and comfortable setting priorities under pressure;
- A clear communicator who switches easily between external partners and internal stakeholders;
- You take ownership of the platform and are comfortable stepping in occasionally outside office hours when it matters;
- Independent by default, but at your best in a team where initiative is the norm;
- You are fluent in Dutch and English.
