Govig Healthcare Group, the leading executive search firm in senior housing, is looking to find a Regional Director of Operations to oversee a portfolio of communities, primarily in Maryland and Virginia.
The Regional Director of Operations will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple senior living communities, partnering closely with Executive Directors and support teams to drive performance, resident satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial success. This leader will play a key role in developing talent, strengthening culture, and ensuring operational excellence across the portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for a portfolio of senior living communities.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Executive Directors and community leadership teams to maximize performance and engagement.
- Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the region.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including occupancy, financial performance, resident satisfaction, employee retention, and quality outcomes.
- Partner with community leaders to develop and execute strategic plans that support growth and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with support departments including clinical, sales, human resources, and finance to achieve organizational objectives.
- Conduct regular community visits to assess operations, provide coaching, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support recruiting, succession planning, and leadership development efforts across the portfolio.
- Lead special projects and operational initiatives that enhance resident experience and business performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 4 years of multi-site operational leadership experience, preferably within senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related service industry.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple locations and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.
- Proven ability to drive operational, financial, and occupancy performance.
- Knowledge of senior living operations, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and/or skilled nursing preferred.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Maryland, Virginia, and surrounding markets as needed.
