Role Description
As a Laboratory IT Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining laboratory IT systems, scientific instrument-connected workstations, and related infrastructure within a regulated biotech/pharmaceutical environment. You will execute system upgrades, migrations, integrations, and lifecycle management activities while ensuring compliance with GLP, GxP, GDPR, and organizational IT standards. You will collaborate with scientists, IT teams, and external vendors to deliver reliable laboratory IT operations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Managed maintenance, support, and lifecycle activities for laboratory IT systems, ensuring reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of laboratory equipment and computer systems.
- Executed laboratory IT security, migration, integration, and infrastructure projects by following defined engineering processes and procedures.
- Collaborated with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve technical issues, support operational requirements, and deliver IT solutions aligned with regulatory standards.
- Supported system upgrades, implementations, and process optimization initiatives while maintaining accurate technical documentation, including system records, procedures, and work instructions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in relevant IT engineering domains, preferably within laboratory or regulated environments.
- Experience supporting delivery of IT solutions and participating in IT processes and projects.
- Foundational knowledge of defined procedures in regulated environments (e.g., GLP, GxP, GDPR).
- Foundational knowledge of relevant IT technologies within own area of responsibility.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
