Insight Global is looking for an individual responsible for building and running a strong, compliant, and practical HR function in a fast-growing defense logistics company. This role focuses on employment risk management, workforce operations, and supporting leaders through hiring, performance management, and sensitive personnel matters. The position prioritizes structure, accountability, and legal rigor while ensuring the organization is staffed with professionals aligned to a mission-driven, high-expectation environment.
Head of People:
- Reviewing an employment compliance issue flagged by a manager and coordinating with outside counsel on the response
- Conducting an internal investigation into a workplace complaint with thorough documentation
- Updating the employee handbook to reflect a new state-level employment law requirement
- Coaching a hiring manager through a performance improvement plan and termination decision
- Working through benefits harmonization for a recently acquired company's employees
Requirements:
- 8+ YOE of HR experience, progressing upwards into leadership or senior role for at least 3+ years
- Extensive knowledge in federal and state laws, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and related compliance requirements
- Track record of building HR infrastructure in a growth-stage company (sub 200 employees)
- Comfortable operating in a lean environment where you build and manage the function entirely
- Ability to take lead and make decisions for the business pertaining to HR and People functions
Compensation:
- Head of People: $170,000-$195,000
