The Role

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll support a broad range of security initiatives—from evaluating new technologies and vendors to monitoring vulnerabilities and advising teams on best practices. You’ll collaborate with security architects, IT teams, and business partners to deliver practical, scalable security solutions while helping build a resilient, forward‑looking security program.

What You’ll Do
Cyber Risk & Assurance
- Conduct security risk assessments for new technologies, IT initiatives, and third‑party vendors.
- Support responses to security questionnaires, audits, and client or regulatory assessments.
Vulnerability & Threat Management
- Monitor emerging threats and software vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate triage, remediation, and response efforts while communicating risk clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
Security Advisory Support
- Serve as a trusted information security advisor to technical teams and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Help translate complex security topics into practical guidance that supports informed decision‑making.
Security Tools & Technology Enablement
- Evaluate, recommend, and help implement security tools and controls.
- Support security enhancement projects across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
Documentation, Policies & Standards
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Contribute to the evolution of security policies, standards, and guidelines.
Issue & Exception Management
- Assist with tracking, managing, and resolving security findings, exceptions, and remediation activities.
Security Program Development
- Participate in broader information security planning efforts and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the organization’s security posture over time.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Approximately 3 years of experience in areas such as security assessments, vulnerability management, or a related security function.
Infrastructure & OS Knowledge
- Experience assessing security controls in Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
- Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure and core security concepts.
Cloud & Modern Environments
- Hands‑on exposure to cloud technologies, including Microsoft Azure (IaaS) and SaaS platforms.
Security Frameworks & Controls
- Working knowledge of commonly used frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, SOC, and SIG questionnaires.
Automation & Tooling
- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell.
- Exposure to API‑based integrations is a plus.
Core Security Domains
- Foundational knowledge of areas such as:
- Identity and access management (IAM)
- Authentication technologies
- Vulnerability scanning and forensic tools
- Endpoint detection and response (EDR)
- Encryption and key management
- Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS)
- Firewalls, logging, and monitoring
- Anti‑malware, web filtering, and email security
Communication & Collaboration
- Ability to clearly explain security concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Problem‑Solving Approach
- Curious, detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complex security issues.
Preferred Certifications
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP are a plus but not required.
