Role Description: Now that we’ve found product-market-fit, we are hiring a full-time People/HR Lead to help manage our ~50 full-time team that is growing quickly.
Talent acquisition & recruiting
- Own full-cycle recruiting from sourcing and first-round screens through offer.
- Run background and reference checks, and deliver a high-signal, respectful candidate experience.
- Build repeatable hiring processes, scorecards, and an interview bar that scales with headcount.
People operations & compliance
- Own payroll, health insurance and benefits administration, and annual renewals.
- Administer and continually improve our HRIS / PEO and keep employee records accurate and audit-ready.
- Ensure compliance with federal and multi-state employment law across a distributed workforce.
Employee relations & performance
- Be the trusted first point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
- Support managers on performance management, and handle offboarding and separations with fairness and care.
- Steward company policies — keep them current, compliant, and clearly communicated.
Culture & engagement
- Build culture and community in a remote-first environment.
- Plan and execute our bi-annual team retreats end-to-end.
- Own onboarding so new hires ramp fast and feel connected from day one.
Partner to leadership
- Act as a thought partner to the CEO and leadership on org design, headcount planning, and compensation.
- Take on occasional high-priority special projects in close partnership with the CEO.
About you
Must-haves
- 5+ years in HR / People roles, including time inside a fast-moving startup.
- Hands-on experience owning payroll and benefits administration (ideally Rippling)
- Working knowledge of US multi-state employment compliance.
- Full-cycle recruiting experience.
- Comfortable operating as the sole People person and building from a blank page — scrappy, systems-minded, and biased toward action.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with genuine discretion around confidential and sensitive matters.
- Poise and sound judgment in difficult conversations.
Nice-to-haves
- Scaling experience through Series A/B growth.
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or PHR / SPHR certification.
- Background in health, wellness, or another regulated space.
