A leading $1B+ service organization is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Human Resources to drive enterprise‑wide people strategy and lead a major HR transformation. This is a high‑visibility role with direct influence on organizational growth, operational excellence, and executive‑level decision‑making.
About the Role
The VP of HR will shape and execute a forward‑thinking HR strategy, lead a Workday implementation, and build scalable HR operations across a multi‑state workforce. This leader will serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and play a critical role in aligning people initiatives with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with organizational growth
- Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team on workforce planning, org design, and talent strategy
- Lead, mentor, and elevate a high‑performing HR team across multiple functions
Workday Implementation & HR Transformation
- Lead the end‑to‑end Workday implementation and ongoing optimization
- Drive process standardization, system integration, and data integrity
- Partner with IT and Finance to ensure successful deployment and adoption
Payroll & HR Operations
- Oversee multi‑state payroll operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
- Strengthen HR policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Champion continuous improvement across HR systems, reporting, and operations
Talent & Organizational Development
- Lead talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning strategies
- Support leadership development and performance management programs
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- 12–15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience; logistics, transportation, or industrial sector experience preferred
- Proven success leading a Workday implementation or major HRIS transformation
- Strong background in payroll oversight and HR operations within a complex, multi‑state environment
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and hands‑on levels
- Experience partnering with executive leadership on enterprise‑wide initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or HR certification (SHRM, SPHR) preferred
