Role Summary
We are looking for a Financial Control Specialist to join our Regional Headquarters in Delft. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring robust financial controls, maintaining data integrity across finance systems, and supporting accurate financial reporting and continuous improvement across our European operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls across the region in line with Group standards.
- Coordinate SOX and financial control testing activities, including remediation and audit support.
- Monitor deficiencies and drive corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Provide financial oversight and support for projects, including invoicing, reporting, forecasting, cash flow, and risk management.
- Assist with project reviews, risk identification, and the management of commercial matters such as claims and insurance cases.
- Act as a key liaison between Finance, IT, and operational teams, ensuring the integrity of financial data flows between business systems and SAP FI/CO.
- Support month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and SAP FI/CO-related activities.
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and the resolution of data and system discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- HBO or SPD qualification is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Practical experience with SAP FI/CO and financial data management.
- Knowledge of financial system integrations, interfaces, and data flows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with reconciliations, data validation, and control-related activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Finance and IT stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive approach to work.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
