Financial Accountant
On behalf of a leading international energy and trading organization, Meijer & Zanoli is looking for a Financial Accountant.
The Role
As Financial Accountant, you'll join the Finance team and take ownership of accurate and timely financial administration. You'll play a central role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring financial reporting meets applicable standards and internal guidelines. You'll also contribute to optimizing financial processes and work closely with colleagues across Finance, Control, and Treasury.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for (part of) the financial and general ledger administration;
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations;
- Safeguard the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting in line with internal and external guidelines (e.g. IFRS/local GAAP);
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors;
- Identify discrepancies and actively contribute to resolving them;
- Support audits by providing documentation and substantiation;
- Contribute to improving and automating accounting processes and internal controls;
- Collaborate with Control, Treasury, and Trading to ensure accurate financial processing of transactions;
- Act as a point of contact for accounting-related questions within your area.
What You Bring
- A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or a related field;
- 1 to 4 years of relevant work experience in an accounting role, preferably within an international or complex organization (trading/energy is a plus);
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or local reporting standards;
- Accurate, analytically strong, and structured way of working;
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written. Preferably also dutch
