This is a function-building role. There is no large team to inherit and no established playbook to follow. You will define the marketing strategy for Europe, build the digital-first infrastructure to execute it, and connect marketing activity directly to commercial outcomes.
You will work closely with our incoming Commercial Director, Danny Lenselink, and across product, sales and operations. The role has visibility at group level and influence across every market we operate in.
You will report into Danny, and sit within the European commercial leadership team - working alongside Andrew (CEO), Claire (HR Director) and Anna Murphy (Group Finance Director), as part of a senior team actively shaping what this group becomes.
Most senior marketing roles ask you to maintain something. This one asks you to build it: a digital-first marketing engine and a repeatable go-to-market playbook that lets us roll out proven programmes country by country - starting with the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and an exciting new market entry, Poland.
If you want to define the brief, set the direction and see your work translate directly into how this business grows across Europe, this is that role.
Key Responsibilities - Day to day, you will be:
- Defining and owning the European marketing strategy, aligned to commercial growth targets
- Building and maturing the digital marketing infrastructure - CRM, automation, analytics - as the foundation for a scalable, predictable growth engine
- Building demand generation across digital, events, partnerships and outbound - and tracking what it delivers into pipeline
- Developing a per-country go-to-market playbook: one central strategy, adapted with local relevance, rolled out first across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Poland
- Bringing AI into the marketing function - from content and creative production to campaign optimisation - so we stay ahead of where the industry is heading
- Working with the Product Manager on positioning, messaging and go-to-market plans for new and existing product ranges
- Equipping the sales team with the tools, content and insight they need to win business
- Gathering market intelligence and customer insight to sharpen strategy and inform product direction
- Building and leading a marketing team fit for where the business is heading
- Owning the marketing budget and holding yourself accountable to clear ROI and pipeline KPIs
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You have senior B2B marketing leadership experience, with a track record of connecting marketing activity to revenue. You know how to build a pipeline, not just a brand. You have operated in growth-focused businesses - ideally PE-backed - where resources are finite and commercial accountability is real.
You are comfortable building from scratch, including the underlying digital infrastructure. You do not need a large established team or a mature marketing stack to get started. You know what good looks like and you can create it.
Strong fit if you have:
- Proven demand generation experience with direct pipeline and revenue accountability
- Hands-on experience across digital marketing disciplines - performance marketing, SEO, content, social, marketing automation, CRM and analytics
- A genuine enthusiasm for using AI in marketing production and strategy - you want to be ahead of this curve, not catching up to it
- Experience building a go-to-market strategy across multiple European countries - one central approach, adapted with local relevance
- Industrial, manufacturing, workwear, apparel or logistics sector experience (desirable, not essential)
- Comfort operating across geographies, ideally with an extra European language (German, French or Polish) and a willingness to travel, including to major industry trade fairs
- Real ownership, high energy and an entrepreneurial mindset
