Position Summary
Yummy Extensions is seeking a highly organized, hands-on, and solutions-oriented Human Resources Specialist to lead the day-to-day execution of people operations across our headquarters and retail locations.
This role is ideal for an HR professional with 3+ years of experience who enjoys being hands-on and execution-focused in a fast-paced, growing environment. The HR Specialist will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, HR systems administration, payroll and benefits support, leave administration, compliance tracking, and day-to-day employee support.
The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. This individual should be adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities may shift and direction can change.They should be able to navigate ambiguity and gray areas with sound judgment, ask thoughtful questions when needed, and remain flexible while helping bring structure and follow-through to day-to-day HR operations. A strong sense of urgency, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
This position reports directly to the Head of Operations and works closely with leadership and the HR Advisor to execute HR priorities, support employees, and ensure day-to-day people operations run smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer process management, and onboarding logistics.
- Own employee administration throughout the entire employee lifecycle, including hiring, promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, performance processes, and offboarding.
- Coordinate offboarding activities, including exit interviews, final documentation, system access removal, and equipment return.
- Support employee relations matters by documenting conversations, tracking follow-up items, and partnering with the HR Advisor on investigations, corrective actions, and performance-related matters.
- Serve as the primary administrator of the company’s HRIS.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR files, and system documentation while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity across HR systems.
- Conduct regular audits of employee data, timekeeping, PTO balances, and HRIS records to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with the HR Advisor to prepare and audit bi-weekly payroll, including timecard review, expense reimbursement tracking, PTO accuracy, and employee changes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, handbook guidelines, and applicable employment practices.
- Collaborate with the HR Advisor on change management, policy implementation, all-employee communications, and process rollouts.
- Partner with department managers to coordinate performance management processes, including performance reviews, development plans, and documentation tracking.
- Support managers with employee coaching, accountability processes, and follow-up on action items.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experience through increased efficiency, organization, and operational consistency.
- Perform additional HR and operational duties as assigned in support of evolving business needs.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, HR Generalist, HR Operations, or Office Operations roles.
- Experience owning or heavily supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee administration, and offboarding.
- Experience supporting multi-state workforces and applying varying state and local employment laws, policies, and HR practices across different jurisdictions.
- Experience administering and maintaining an HRIS platform (Rippling preferred).
- Strong operational mindset with demonstrated ability to build structure and improve processes in evolving environments.
- Familiarity with payroll preparation, employee changes, timecard audits, and workforce administration.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and thrive in ambiguity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Compensation: Starting salary of $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
