Position Summary
StoicLane is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being at the center of execution—ensuring HR processes run smoothly while contributing to the buildout of scalable, consistent people practices.
The Human Resources Coordinator will play an important role across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits, payroll coordination, recruiting support, compliance, and employee inquiries. This role partners closely with HR leadership and operations resources to deliver a responsive, accurate, and high-quality employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including maintaining employee records, processing electronic paperwork, and managing documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee data in HR systems to support compliance, reporting, and operational needs
- Assist with payroll and benefits administration, including new hire setup, employee changes, audits, and communication with external vendors
- Coordinate virtual or on-site I-9 verification for newly hired employees
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR questions related to payroll, benefits, leave, HR policies, and other routine inquiries, escalating issues when appropriate
- Support recruiting coordination by posting open roles, managing applicant tracking system workflows, scheduling interviews, and assisting with pre-employment activities
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a smooth and consistent employee experience
- Provide administrative support for ADA accommodations and FMLA or other leave processes, including tracking documentation and scheduling interactive process meetings
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, training coordination, policy administration, and other HR operational initiatives
- Support employee engagement efforts and internal communications to help foster a positive and connected culture

Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of Human Resources experience, with exposure to benefits, payroll, or HR operations preferred
- Experience supporting core HR processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, employee changes, offboarding)
- Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., Paylocity or similar HRIS)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work from the Chicago office on a Hybrid schedule of Monday through Thursday.
What We Offer
- As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $25.00 - 33.00 / hour, and will be eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time.
