We're looking for a high-impact finance leader to take on a strategic and operational role at SE Ranking - a profitable, growing SaaS business with a team of 200 people, currently at an exciting inflection point. This is an opportunity to step into the company's leading finance role from day one, with a clear pathway to C-level as you professionalize the function and help shape the next chapter of growth.
While highly strategic in scope, this role demands a hands-on leader who stays close to execution and leads by example. The person who succeeds here will be deeply engaged with the work and the business in equal measure.
SE Ranking is entering a more ambitious phase, and that's precisely why the finance function needs to be professionalised: tighter GAAP-quality books, audit readiness, ERP migration, multi-entity consolidation, and the operating discipline this next stage of growth demands. The right hire builds on today's foundation while designing the financial operating system for the next version of the company.
You'll partner closely with our CEO
Vik Kuushynau and COO
Xenia Muntean, and the broader leadership team - not from a distance, but as someone hands-on and in the work. If you're energised by building something that matters in a fast-moving, low-ego, global team - this is your role.
What you'll do:
- Own the architecture of the finance function. Mature the function by leading the migration from QuickBooks to the ERP of choice and by sharpening multi-entity consolidation, close processes, and internal controls.
- Drive audit readiness. Bring the books to full GAAP rigour, document controls, implement defensible revenue recognition, and get the company to a point where it can confidently face an external audit.
- Build the operating cadence that drive decisions. Bring discipline and structure to forecasting, budgeting, and headcount planning so they shape where the business invests. Create the KPI dashboard the leadership team and board can actually run on.
- Lead and integrate the finance team. Unify SE Ranking's 6-person finance function (across Europe) into a single cohesive team, coaching and developing the people already there, and raising the bar as the company scales
- Be a thought partner to the CEO and COO on capital allocation. Translate financial rigour into better operating decisions - GTM efficiency, margin expansion, headcount discipline.
- Manage key external relationships. Own the partnerships with banks, CPA firms, auditors, and core finance vendors appropriate for a scaling, internationally distributed SaaS business.
- Shape the financial story. Build the board-level reporting and financial narratives that reflect where the business is headed and position the finance function to support the company's next chapters.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Hands-on SaaS finance leadership experience — at a company in the $20M–$75M ARR range - you've built or participated in materially upgrading a finance function, not just run one that was already mature.
- Deep controllership foundation — GAAP compliance, revenue recognition, multi-entity consolidation, and direct experience preparing for or managing an external audit. You know what audit-ready actually means in practice.
- ERP migration experience — you've led or played a central role in a systems upgrade as part of a finance infrastructure build. You understand what it takes to get from growing to audit-grade maturity.
- Multi-currency and international finance experience — managing books across multiple countries, entities, and currencies is second nature to you. You're comfortable with international tax, transfer pricing, and multi-jurisdiction compliance.
- Strong command of SaaS unit economics — NDR, GRR, LTV/CAC, CAC payback, EBITDA margin, Rule of X. You're analytically rigorous and commercially minded — you understand the business, not just the numbers.
- A player-coach operating style — You develop and lead your team while staying personally engaged in the work. You don't need a large team or extensive support structure to get things done - you're energised by building.
- Modern, tech-forward mindset — You lean into AI and automation to do more with less. You're comfortable in an async-first, globally distributed environment where Slack and clear written communication are the default.
Bonus points, if you have:
- Experience integrating finance teams or functions post-acquisition. You've brought two teams together and made them stronger for it.
- Experience building and experimenting with AI solutions. You've designed and implemented AI-assisted workflows or automations in a finance context, not just adopted existing tools.
- Experience building a financial story for investors or capital providers.
What we offer
- Role-Specific Perks
- A clear path to CFO. As the finance function matures and the business scales, we want this person to grow with it and into the C-level seat
- A few leadership offsites per year. Even though we're remote-first, we get the team together in person a couple of times a year for the moments that matter
- Leadership team & board exposure. A seat at the leadership table. You'll work directly with the CEO, COO, and board, with full visibility into how a scaling SaaS business is run.
- Company-Wide Benefits
- 22 days of paid time off, plus your local national holidays
- Flexible work hours and a culture that trusts you to manage your time
- Private medical insurance or a medical allowance (depending on your location)
- Extended paid sick leave so you can fully recover without worry
- AI investment. We invest heavily in AI so you'll have the opportunity to build skills that matter for the next decade of your career, not just this role.
- A quarterly learning budget for courses, books, or anything that helps you grow professionally
- A quarterly wellbeing budget you can use for sport, therapy, or even a good novel
- A quarterly co-working budget so you can work from wherever feels right
- Best hardware for your work (team Apple)
- A transparent, flexible culture with people at the core of everything we do
