We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Head of Finance join a small asset management firm.
This is a standalone role, offering full ownership of the finance function and requiring a hands-on, proactive approach.
The position will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting the business in its ongoing development.
This opportunity would suit a finance professional with experience in financial services, ideally within asset or investment management, who is comfortable operating independently while partnering closely with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the Head of Finance:
• Build and lead the end-to-end Finance function, including reporting and compliance
• Maintain books across entities, prepare monthly and annual reports
• Manage tax processes and external advisor relationships
• Lead ERP selection and implementation
• Design chart of accounts and general ledger structures
• Transition from outsourced to in-house, automated processes
• Ensure integration of financial and investment data
• Oversee cashflow, banking, and payments
• Manage payroll and ensure regulatory compliance
• Support HR administration and documentation
• Establish controls and ensure compliance
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights
Requirements:
• 10+ years’ experience in Finance (Accounting, Reporting, Tax)
• Proven track record in building or transforming Finance functions
• Knowledge of Dutch GAAP
• Hands-on, able to operate independently in lean environments
• Experience in financial services sector
• Strong understanding of financial systems and data
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach
• Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments
• High attention to detail and ownership
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
