Junior Business Controller – Amsterdam

As a Junior Business Controller, you focus on improving overall business performance by turning data into clear and actionable insights. You support the optimization of planning and business processes to increase profitability. You collaborate with different teams across the organization.
Your work includes in-depth analysis and reporting within an international maritime and offshore safety training environment. The focus is on pricing, margins, and training capacity planning for safety courses, as well as overall financial performance. You also play an important role in forecasting, budgeting, and supporting strategic projects that drive growth and efficiency across the global training network.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Analyze profit, margins and overall business performance while translating insights into concrete improvements;
- Improve training planning and staffing to increase operational efficiency;
- Contribute to pricing strategies and commercial decisions, supporting strategic direction;
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes to strengthen financial planning and insights;
- Develop and enhance dashboards and reports to improve data visibility and usability;
- Support M&A activities, including buy & build initiatives, due diligence and transaction processes;
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency across the organization.
Your profile
- 1 to 3 years of experience in finance, consulting, or data analysis;
- Completed Bachelor or university degree in a relevant field;
- Strong analytical skills and a natural interest in working with data and Power BI;
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently;
- Eager to learn and continuously develop professionally;
- Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Curiosity for AI is considered a plus.
