HR Generalist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an HR Generalist with at least 3 years of experience working in a similar role. This is a Temp opportunity within the Non-Profit industry, located in The Bronx, NY.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, performance issues, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
- Partner with managers to provide guidance on corrective action, performance management, coaching conversations, and employee engagement best practices
- Conduct employee relations investigations as needed, ensuring fair, timely, and well-documented outcomes aligned with organizational values and legal requirements
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, internal transfers, leaves of absence, and offboarding, with a strong emphasis on employee experience
- Interpret and apply HR policies, employee handbook provisions, and employment laws in a consistent and compassionate manner
- Assist with leave administration (FMLA, state leaves, accommodations) and collaborate with leadership to support employees through complex situations
- Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, and case notes while upholding strict confidentiality standards
- Act as a liaison between employees, managers, and leadership to promote clear communication and a respectful workplace culture
- Support HR initiatives related to engagement, DEI, training, and organizational development within a nonprofit setting
- Collaborate with payroll, benefits, and external partners as needed to resolve employee-related questions or issues
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of HR/Employee Relations experience

Salary: $28-31/hr
