Role Summary
A growing HR consulting platform is seeking an HR Generalist to support both internal stakeholders and external clients across a broad range of HR functions. This is a hands-on, client-facing role ideal for a developing HR professional who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
This position is hybrid and may require local travel to client sites.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance
• Provide tactical HR support including multi-state compliance, policy interpretation, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and training
• Independently manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll including audits, tax registrations, bonuses/commissions, and agency correspondence
• Support benefits administration (enrollments, terminations, COBRA, open enrollment, invoice reconciliation)
• Manage leave administration workflows (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
• Assist with HRIS and payroll system implementations or conversions
Client Support & Project Work
• Partner with senior HR team members to execute client action plans
• Build strong working relationships with client leadership and employees
• Conduct HR research and assist with development of policies, procedures, trainings, and documentation
• Manage multiple client deliverables, timelines, and service plans
• Track time and prioritize workload to meet quality and deadline expectations
Team & Operational Contributions
• Contribute to process improvements, templates, and standard operating procedures
• Participate in internal development initiatives and team meetings
• Support business development efforts as needed
What They’re Looking For
• 4–6 years of progressive HR experience
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (multi-state preferred)
• Experience processing full-cycle, multi-state payroll
• Comfortable managing multiple clients and shifting priorities
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) highly desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems
