What You’ll Do:
- Monitor, review, and respond to alerts from security systems (Microsoft 365 SIEM, Microsoft Security Portal, and more).
- Quickly analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve security incidents, and escalate when necessary.
- Conduct investigations of suspected breaches and coordinate with external vendors and law enforcement as needed.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, audits, and periodic inspections to ensure the integrity of district systems.
- Maintain and implement security policies, standards, and controls, collaborating closely with IT teams and staff across all campuses.
- Manage and monitor security platforms, including servers, firewalls, email security, and M365 environment.
- Communicate directly with internal support teams and provide user training and security awareness guidance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in IT/cyber security.
- At least one recognized cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Security+).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Security Portal solutions.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks like NIST or ISO, and hands-on experience with incident response and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Action-oriented approach, able to independently assess threats and take ownership of incidents.
- Willingness to convert to full-time after the contract period (required).
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Active Directory, firewalls, SIEM platforms, and business continuity planning.

Pay range and compensation package
The hourly pay range for this position is $40 to $60 on a W2 basis. As a contract/temporary professional, you are eligible for medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance coverage.
