Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations, recruiting, compliance, and employee relations. This role works cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Hiring Managers to ensure smooth HR processes and accurate HR data. PEO experience and hands-on experience with ADP PEO are preferred. The ideal candidate is a highly organized professional who can pivot from managing payroll to assisting employees with benefits enrollment.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations & PEO Management
- PEO Liaison: Act as the primary HR contact for our PEO provider, ensuring all platform data is accurate and the service level meets company needs.
- Onboarding & Lifecycle: Process all new hire onboarding, status changes, and employee terminations through the PEO platform.
- Payroll Management: Coordinate all payroll-related updates (commissions, bonuses, overtime, and deductions) between the Finance team and the PEO; Ensure payroll records align with the general ledger and assist in month-end payroll accruals; Monitor time-off requests and attendance records for accuracy prior to payroll submission.
- Data Management: Ensure all employee transactions (promotions, salary adjustments, address changes) are updated in real-time within the PEO system and HRIS
- Benefits Administration: Support the annual open enrollment period and serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding health plans, 401(k), and other benefits.
- Employee Relations & Policy Support: Assist with employee relations issues and escalate when needed; Support HR policy rollout, communication, and documentation.
Other HR duties:
- Immigration Support: work with immigration counsel on visa cases (H-1B, L-1, F-1/OPT, TN, etc.)
- Budget & FSCC Review: Support HR budget planning and FSCC (Finance Shared Cost Center) reviews, reconciliations and Finance reporting; Track HR expenditures such as PEO fees, immigration costs, recruiting expenses, and training expenses.
- Compliance & Documentation: Assist with audits, I-9 reverification, and compliance tracking; Support administration of state and federal leaves (FMLA, PDL, CFRA, ADA etc).
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition: Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and job descriptions; Support the full recruiting lifecycle from job posting to offer.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of HR experience with PEO experience preferred
- Strong understanding of HR operations, compliance, and data accuracy.
- Experience with recruiting and interviewing.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
- Language: Bilingual fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is strongly preferred
Preferred Skill Set
- Hands-on experience with ADP total source in an administrative capacity.
- Exposure to immigration processes preferred.
- HRIS: ADP WFN, TriNet, BambooHR, Rippling, etc.
- ATS systems: Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, etc.
- Excel/Google Sheets for reporting and data management
- Knowledge of California employment law

HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU
The base salary range for this full time position is $70,000 – $95,000 per year, dependent on experience.
