Director of Human Resources
We are partnering with a growing organization to hire a Director of Human Resources who will own the people strategy and lead HR across a multi-state workforce. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can balance strategy with hands-on execution and bring structure, clarity, and consistency to a distributed environment.
You will lead a small HR team, partner closely with senior leadership, and play a central role in shaping culture, engagement, and long-term organizational health. This role is ideal for an HR leader who takes initiative and drives change.
What You’ll Do
- Set and execute an HR strategy aligned with business growth and operational needs
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on workforce planning and organizational design
- Lead employee relations, performance management, and change initiatives
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and talent development
- Strengthen communication and engagement across a distributed workforce
- Ensure compliance across multiple states and maintain HR policies and documentation
- Support compensation and benefits programs and annual planning cycles
- Lead and develop 1–2 HR Generalists and 1 Recruiter
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree a plus)
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in leadership
- Ideal background: HR leadership in companies with 100–500 employees
- Experience supporting multi-state, blue-collar, or field-based teams
- Strong background in employee relations and recruiting
- Experience influencing senior leaders and driving organizational change
- Comfortable working in a remote environment
- Experience with HRIS and ATS platforms
- Experience in private equity-backed organizations is a plus
