Director of Human Resources

We are partnering with a growing organization to hire a Director of Human Resources who will own the people strategy and lead HR across a multi-state workforce. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can balance strategy with hands-on execution and bring structure, clarity, and consistency to a distributed environment.

You will lead a small HR team, partner closely with senior leadership, and play a central role in shaping culture, engagement, and long-term organizational health. This role is ideal for an HR leader who takes initiative and drives change.

What You’ll Do

Set and execute an HR strategy aligned with business growth and operational needs
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on workforce planning and organizational design
Lead employee relations, performance management, and change initiatives
Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and talent development
Strengthen communication and engagement across a distributed workforce
Ensure compliance across multiple states and maintain HR policies and documentation
Support compensation and benefits programs and annual planning cycles
Lead and develop 1–2 HR Generalists and 1 Recruiter

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree a plus)
8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in leadership
Ideal background: HR leadership in companies with 100–500 employees
Experience supporting multi-state, blue-collar, or field-based teams
Strong background in employee relations and recruiting
Experience influencing senior leaders and driving organizational change
Comfortable working in a remote environment
Experience with HRIS and ATS platforms
Experience in private equity-backed organizations is a plus
