From our factory in Eindhoven, we develop and build our heat pumps. In our new hub in the center of Utrecht, everything the outside world sees comes together: commercial growth, our digital products, and support for installers and consumers. Weheat has thousands of heat pumps in the field, and every one of them generates data. This role is about what you can see when you look across all of them at once: performance patterns, grid signals, fleet-wide opportunities, and the levers that move the needle at scale.
Your Mission
You identify what is happening across thousands of installations, build models that span the full portfolio, and translate those insights into smarter energy strategies, better product decisions, and grid-ready behaviour. Your work connects the intelligence running inside each heat pump to the larger energy system it is part of.
The Challenge
- Fleet Performance Analysis: Identify performance patterns, anomalies and improvement opportunities across the installed base. Where are units underperforming, and why? What does good look like, and how do we scale it?
- Energy & Grid Forecasting: Build probabilistic models for aggregate thermal demand, flexibility potential and system inertia across the fleet, integrating dynamic tariffs, PV production and grid signals.
- Flexibility & Grid Interaction: Model and optimize how the Weheat fleet participates in energy markets and responds to grid conditions. Turn distributed thermal assets into coordinated grid resources.
- Data-Driven Product Feedback: Use fleet data to close the loop with control and hardware engineering. What does field reality reveal about how systems are actually behaving, and what should change?
- Real-World ML: Handle missing telemetry, time-series drift, seasonality, edge cases and physical constraints at scale across a diverse and growing installed base.
