Elliott Scott HR is partnering with a highly regarded New York-based cultural institution to appoint its next Director, People & Culture. This confidential opportunity is ideal for an experienced HR leader looking to combine strategic business partnership with hands-on leadership in an organization where people, purpose and culture genuinely matter.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you'll lead the People function across approximately 75 employees while partnering closely with senior leadership to shape organizational culture, coach leaders and guide the organization through its next phase of growth.
This is a highly visible leadership role where success is built on trusted relationships, sound judgment and exceptional employee relations expertise.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for leading all aspects of the People function, including:
- Executive coaching and business partnership
- Employee Relations and workplace investigations
- Organizational culture and employee engagement
- Talent acquisition and onboarding
- Leadership development and performance management
- HR Operations, compliance and policy development
- Organizational effectiveness and change management
You'll partner with leaders across both corporate and creative teams, helping to foster an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing workplace.
Who We're Looking For
We're interested in experienced HR leaders who have successfully partnered with executive teams in complex organizations.
You may currently be working in:

Previous arts experience is not essential.
More important is your ability to build credibility, coach leaders and navigate complex employee matters with confidence.

- Experience leading organizational change

Exposure to unionized environments is beneficial but not essential.
