Position Summary
Chaumont is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR People & Operations Coordinator to support daily People & Culture operations across our cafés, wholesale, and distribution teams.
This role supports onboarding, employee records, compliance tracking, payroll and timekeeping coordination, scheduling administration, employee communication, and general HR operations. The ideal candidate is professional, confidential, organized, and comfortable supporting employees and leaders in a fast-paced hospitality and bakery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support onboarding coordination, new hire paperwork, I-9 documentation, employee files, and required employment documents.
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, compliance documents, certifications, and internal tracking systems.
- Assist with payroll and timekeeping administration, including timecard follow-up, missed punches, meal/rest break tracking, and payroll preparation support.
- Support scheduling administration, availability tracking, time-off requests, and communication between employees and leadership.
- Help monitor required trainings, Food Handler cards, ServSafe certifications, policy acknowledgments, and compliance deadlines.
- Draft and send employee communications, reminders, onboarding messages, policy updates, and HR follow-ups as assigned.
- Support employee relations documentation by preparing notes, timelines, corrective action drafts, and follow-up records under HR direction.
- Assist with recruiting coordination, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and new hire preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality with employee information, payroll details, HR matters, investigations, and internal company documents.
- Partner with store leadership, distribution leadership, and operations teams to support consistent HR processes across locations.
- Escalate employee concerns, policy issues, payroll concerns, workplace injuries, complaints, or compliance matters to the HR Director.
Qualifications
- Prior HR, administrative, recruiting, payroll, hospitality operations, or office coordination experience preferred.
- Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Comfortable working with employee documents, deadlines, calendars, spreadsheets, and HR systems.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, managers, and leadership.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Hospitality, restaurant, bakery, retail, or multi-location experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and solutions-oriented.
