Job Description
The Head of IT/Senior IT Business Partner is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on IT support services to users across the Benelux and France Eurofins Forensic Services locations.
The role ensures end user computing, laboratory IT equipment, and site-based technology operate reliably, securely, and in line with operational and compliance requirements.
In addition to day to day support activities, the role contributes to IT projects by supporting:
- Site-based deployments
- Technology refresh programmes and upgrades
- Operational change initiatives
You will be working closely with the Lead IT Field Support Engineer, different Infrastructure teams, and project stakeholders.
As a Head of IT/Senior IT Business Partner you will plan, prioritize and help ensure projects are delivered smoothly with minimal disruption to forensic operations.
Through professional service delivery, adherence to standards, and a customer focused approach, this role supports stable forensic operations and the successful adoption of new and improved IT services.
What you will be doing, but not limited to;
Field Support & End‑User Services
- Provide on‑site IT support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and specialist laboratory devices.
- Resolve incidents and service requests efficiently in line with agreed SLA's.
- Install, configure, maintain, and replace IT hardware and software.
- Support user account setup, access requests, and device onboarding.
Incident & Request Management
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues across hardware, software, and connectivity.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the Lead IT Field Support Engineer or Infrastructure teams as appropriate.
- Support Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents when required, including out‑of‑hours support where agreed.
Site & Operational Support
- Provide IT support for forensic laboratories, ensuring minimal disruption to operational activities.
- Assist with IT rollouts, refresh programmes, and site‑based changes.
- Support basic network tasks at site level (patching, connectivity checks, device swaps).
SOP & Knowledge Contribution
- Follow documented SOP's and standard working practices.
- Contribute to Knowledge Base articles and documentation to support service improvement and consistency.
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out through ticketing and asset systems.
Asset & Compliance Management
- Manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including deployment, tracking, and disposal.
- Ensure adherence to Eurofins security policies, data protection, and compliance requirements.
- Support audit activities where required, including evidence gathering and validation.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Deliver a professional, customer‑focused service to laboratory staff and business users.
- Communicate clearly with users regarding progress, resolution, and next steps.
- Build positive working relationships with site staff and IT colleagues.
On Call & Out of Hours Support
- Participate in the IT Infrastructure on call rotation, providing out of hours and emergency on site or remote support as required to maintain service continuity and meet Priority 1 and Priority 2 incident response targets.
Qualifications
What we think is needed to be successful in this role:
- 10+ years of experience in an IT Field Service, Desktop Support, or similar end user support role. Preferably 3+ years of experience as a IT Business Partner.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Windows desktops and laptops
- Common end user applications and peripherals
- Hardware break/fix and troubleshooting
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Organised, reliable and detail oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- European driving license (and the ability to travel between sites).
Which qualifications are a plus:
- Experience supporting laboratory, forensic, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL based service management practices.
- Experience with asset management and ticketing systems.
- Relevant IT certifications or technical training.

Eurofins The Maastricht Forensic Institute (Eurofins TMFI) is the Dutch branch of Eurofins Forensic Services and part of a network of more than 1,500 forensic professionals. Eurofins TMFI provides forensic services to the police, the Public Prosecution Service, and the judiciary.
Eurofins Forensic Services operates across multiple locations and is rapidly developing. The main forensic laboratory is based in Maastricht.
In addition to delivering forensic services fully performed in the Netherlands—such as forensic DNA analysis and forensic medical examinations, Eurofins TMFI also acts as a managed service provider, offering services from other Eurofins Forensics laboratories and (international) partners to the Dutch criminal justice chain.
Eurofins TMFI is a relatively small but fast-growing organization within the wider Eurofins network. The dynamic team currently consists of approximately 70 ambitious professionals and is strongly focused on supporting the Dutch criminal justice system with innovative, flexible, and customer-oriented solutions.
