Foley & Foley, PC is a national employment and labor law firm specializing in workplace law, exclusively representing employers. Serving businesses of all sizes, the firm offers a broad range of services, including employment litigation defense, HR compliance audits, employee handbooks, workplace investigations, and benefits administration.
This role will join Foley Fractional HR Solutions, the firm’s growing Fractional HR practice. Foley Fractional HR Solutions provides practical HR leadership and operational support, along with legal guidance, to help organizations proactively address workplace issues and strengthen their overall HR infrastructure.
Established in 2007, Foley & Foley combines decades of legal and real-world HR experience to deliver responsive and business-oriented solutions to clients nationwide.
Role Description
Foley & Foley is seeking an experienced Associate Human Resources Generalist to support our growing Foley Fractional HR Solutions practice. This is a full-time remote role designed for someone who can operate across multiple client organizations, providing hands-on HR support while working closely with employment attorneys to deliver aligned, practical, and compliant guidance.
This is not a traditional internal HR role. The Associate HR Generalist will function as an embedded HR partner across several clients, helping them navigate day-to-day HR needs while strengthening their HR infrastructure, policies, documentation, and compliance practices.
The role will work closely with the Senior People & Culture Advisor and Practice Leader on a wide array of client projects and internal initiatives, gaining exposure to both strategic and operational HR work.
Responsibilities
The Associate Human Resources Generalist will:
• Serve as an HR contact for assigned clients, providing day-to-day guidance by phone and email
• Support employee relations matters, including performance issues, investigations, and terminations
• Support and help implement HR best practices across client organizations
• Draft and update employee handbooks, policies, job descriptions, onboarding materials, and HR documentation
• Assist with onboarding processes, offboarding processes, employee communications, and organizational structuring
• Partner with Foley & Foley attorneys on compliance-sensitive matters, including leave laws, wage and hour, discipline, and separation issues
• Work closely with the Senior People & Culture Advisor and Practice Leader on client deliverables, audits, and strategic HR initiatives
• Contribute to HR audits, infrastructure buildouts, and ongoing HR improvement initiatives
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
• 2–4 years of progressive HR experience
• Strong foundation in employee relations and HR compliance
• Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
• Sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced or consulting environment is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required
Why This Role Is Different
• Work across multiple industries and organizations, not just one company
• Gain direct exposure to employment attorneys and real-time legal considerations
• Collaborate closely with senior HR leadership on meaningful client work
• Help build and shape HR functions, not just maintain them
• Join a growing practice within an established employment law firm
Work Location
This is a full-time primarily remote role, with a strong preference for candidates located within driving distance of the Greater Boston area. Candidates must be able to travel to client sites as needed.
