eNGINE is hiring a NOC Analyst is responsible for continuous monitoring and Level 1 troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure — supporting connectivity, availability, and performance across 1,000+ user devices and endpoints. This is a technically focused role suited for candidates with solid networking fundamentals, not a helpdesk or general IT support position.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor network alarms and alerts across a multi-vendor environment using multiple network element management platforms
- Access and troubleshoot network switches, routers, and related devices to identify and resolve issues with a goal of immediate resolution
- Respond to end-user connectivity, speed, and latency issues during daylight shifts, representing the NOC professionally with the broader user community
- Coordinate testing and troubleshooting of WAN circuits with external vendors
- Support installation of network hardware including routers, switches, and servers in accordance with project documentation
- Maintain and distribute technical documentation including wiring configurations, fiber distribution layouts, and network interconnection records
- Respond to IP and port requests within the data center environment
- Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and customers to design and oversee implementations that maximize network availability
What We're Looking For:
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of the OSI model (all 7 layers) and practical experience with Layers 1–4
- Hands-on experience with Layer 2 switching; familiarity with Cisco switches (Cisco 9300 series used at access layer)
- Familiarity with Cisco and Nokia routers and switches — understanding that platforms perform the same functions with different command syntax
- Working knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, and binary for subnet calculations
- Understanding of symmetrical vs. asymmetrical routing
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to stay focused under pressure
Nice to Have:
- Routing experience (candidates with routing background will typically bring the switching knowledge as well)
- Experience in a NOC or network operations environment
Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree with 1–3 years of relevant networking experience, or
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred
- Degrees or backgrounds in Cybersecurity are not the target profile for this role
Schedule:
This position operates in a 24x7x365 environment; shift coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
