Our client, a leading financial services organization based in Chicago, is seeking an HR Operations professional to join their growing People team. The HR Operations Specialist will act as a primary point of contact for a wide range of employee HR needs and will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding. This individual will partner closely with HR and business stakeholders to ensure HR processes are executed efficiently, accurately, and with a strong employee experience focus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to day-to-day employee HR questions and provide clear guidance on policies, programs, and processes
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a seamless transition for employees and managers
- Coordinate employee lifecycle updates such as role changes, promotions, transfers, relocations, and exits
- Assist with benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and ongoing employee support
- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems while ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms
- Partner with internal HR teams and specialists to support broader HR initiatives and workflows
- Help facilitate new hire orientation sessions and provide support on company programs and offerings
- Support the processing of contractor onboarding and offboarding across different business groups
- Assist with HR documentation, reporting needs, and compliance-related tasks
- Contribute to process improvement efforts aimed at increasing efficiency and enhancing the employee experience
- Provide additional support on HR projects and initiatives as needed across the organization
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in HR coordination, HR operations, or HR support roles
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data
- Experience using HR systems (Workday or similar platforms preferred)
- Solid understanding of core HR processes and best practices
- Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
- Exposure to benefits administration or leave processes is a plus
