As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in our data team. Based in the vibrant center of Amsterdam, WorldACD operates in a fascinating international environment. We collect, analyze and publish market data about air cargo worldwide. Almost every large event in the world has impact on air cargo. Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist with 1 to 4 years of work experience who is passionate about delivering the best possible market data on worldwide air cargo in all its colours and flavours. You will need to be eager to explore large datasets and find meaningful patterns. You will need to keep an overview but also enjoy taking a deep dive without getting lost in the details. Even when the topic is complicated, you should be able to convey your insights in a clear story for colleagues and/or customers, making use of analytics & visualizations as necessary. You are not only interested in algorithms, you also want to understand the data and the air cargo industry.
Responsibilities
- Production of market data: analyse trends, monitor data quality, investigate & solve data issues.
- Participate in product development by exploring data, creating proof-of-concepts.
- Support colleagues and customers in making optimal use of the data
- Support new customers in delivering the best possible inputs according to our definitions.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Econometrics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or a related field. A high score in the quantitative subjects is very helpful.
- Passion for analytics and business intelligence.
- Structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and a high attention to detail.
- Experience with SQL and one or more Business Intelligence tools, but also with Microsoft Excel.
- Having a basic understanding of Python, R, or another programming language is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
