Sevi enables small retailers in Kenya to buy their stock on credit from their supplier. Sevi pays the supplier on behalf of the retailer and the retailer pays Sevi after selling off their stock. This contributes to the financial inclusion of these small shop owners, allowing them to grow their business.
Role Description
This part-time role (12–16 hours per week) as a Technical Support Officer partly based in our office in Utrecht, Netherlands and partly from home.
The ideal candidate will help troubleshoot technical issues, maintain data workflows, assess customer credit limits and support our operational dashboards and applications. This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented with hands-on experience across scripting, databases, and low-code platforms. This is also an ideal job if you are a junior developer or a student looking for a part-time job where you gain relevant work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for day-to-day issues across Sevi’s systems.
- Troubleshoot issues in internal applications, integrations and databases.
- Work with JavaScript based tools and scripts to support internal operations.
- Query, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Support and maintain internal tools built on Appsmith and Metabase.
- Collaborate with developers to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
- Document issues, solutions, and best practices.
- Asses customer credit limits for higher risk customers.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript.
- Solid experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience or knowledge with Appsmith and Metabase, or willingness to learn these platforms.
- Ability to quickly identify, analyse, and resolve technical issues.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Availability for 12–16 hours per week.
- Live in or near by Utrecht.
- Able to commit for a longer period, e.g. 1-2 yrs.
Nice to Have
- Experience with debugging tools, APIs, n8n, or automation scripts.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Previous experience in technical support or software troubleshooting.
- Strong interest or experience in Fintech and/or credit assessment.
- Desire to bring real impact to people's live and work for a purpose-driven company.
- You are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in IT, finance or impact related direction at university or applied university level
