The HR Generalist provides day-to-day support across recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits, and employee relations. This role serves as a first point of contact for employees while supporting organizational initiatives.

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

Support full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
Administer onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
Provide support for performance management systems and review cycles.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, or HR policies.
Draft and update job descriptions in collaboration with managers.
Assist with developing HR communications and policy updates.
Support benefits administration, including enrollment, terminations, and employee questions.
Conduct exit interviews and assist with turnover tracking.
Monitor HR compliance and assist with reporting requirements.
Participate in HR projects such as engagement surveys or DEI initiatives.
Support the HR team with HRIS data entry and reporting.
Collaborate with managers on employee relations matters, escalating as appropriate.
Review and submit accurate expense reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience, preferred.
2–3 years of HR experience preferred.
Familiarity with recruiting, onboarding, and HR compliance practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Office Hours

This position is based in Washington, DC and follows a hybrid work model, with 2–3 days per week in the office. Work hours are consistently 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday, with the expectation that evening and weekend work will be required as necessary.
