Distribution & Logistics Lead – Europe
Location: Geldermalsen, Netherlands (Hybrid / European Travel Required)
Package: up to €100,000 plus bonus

An established international manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Distribution & Logistics Lead to oversee and optimise its European distribution network. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service levels while driving operational efficiency, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement across transportation and warehousing activities throughout Europe.
Working closely with manufacturing sites, procurement, finance, and commercial teams, you will lead the development and execution of logistics strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the European logistics and distribution strategy
- Manage and optimise transportation operations and third-party warehousing partners across multiple countries
- Ensure service levels, distribution costs, and operational performance are aligned with business objectives
- Establish and monitor logistics KPIs, driving corrective actions and continuous performance improvement
- Lead relationships with 3PL and 4PL providers, ensuring strong service delivery and accountability
- Drive network optimisation initiatives, including digitalisation projects and transportation management system (TMS) implementations
- Collaborate with manufacturing sites to ensure seamless product flow from factory to customer
- Partner with Finance to maintain import / export compliance and governance standards
- Support inventory balancing and network optimisation initiatives
- Work closely with Procurement on strategic carrier sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance
- Build strong partnerships with Sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining operational efficiency
About You
You will be a commercially aware logistics professional with the ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in execution.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent logistics leadership experience
- Significant experience in logistics management, covering distribution, transportation, and / or warehousing environments
- Proven experience developing and implementing logistics strategies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers and complex distribution networks.
- Knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP platform
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures, geographies, and functions
- Results-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
