Data Scientist
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for delivering high-impact value through modelling and data analytics for Samsung Electronics while bringing technical excellence to our projects. You will act as a key driver within the team, translating complex business needs into data science solutions.
Role and responsibilities
Your main responsibility is to work on advanced data science and machine learning initiatives that improve business decision-making, including marketing campaign performance, audience segmentation, marketing mix modelling, and pricing strategy.
You will spend most of your time on hands-on data science while also contributing to the technical roadmap and strategy for Samsung's data science landscape.
In addition, you will:
- Develop high-performance data science and machine learning models to drive revenue from marketing campaigns.
- Collect and connect data from multiple sources using GCP and Azure according to business requirements and technical possibilities.
- Identify key customer segments and support personalized marketing communications through precision targeting.
- Contribute to the strategy and roadmap for audience segmentation and personalization across .com/app, CRM, and digital media.
- Optimize the performance of .com/app, CRM, and digital media by designing and conducting A/B and multivariate testing and deploying machine learning algorithms.
- Support simulation and data visualization projects that generate business insights.
- Identify and support new business opportunities using advanced data science methodologies and machine learning.
- Mentor Data Scientists and Analytical Engineers by providing technical guidance and peer reviews.
Your team
You will be part of the central Data Marketing team within the Corporate Marketing organization in Schiphol, the Netherlands. The team provides marketing analytics solutions together with consumer, market, and business insights. Within the Advanced Analytics team, you will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and the Data Engineering & BI and AI teams.
Skills and qualifications
The ideal Data Scientist has:
- A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Quantitative Marketing, or an equivalent field.
- Strong knowledge of statistical modelling, Machine Learning, and Data Science.
- Strong SQL/BigQuery and Python skills for data processing and data mining.
- Knowledge of data engineering, APIs, cloud computing (GCP and/or Azure), and Databricks.
- Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and organizational skills.
- Professional-level English.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with automated ETL processes.
- Experience working with Adobe Campaign, Adobe Experience Platform, Google Marketing Platform, and related marketing technology platforms.
