FIRE (Finance, Risk & Economics) provides financial expertise to companies that undergo change.
Until our merger into FIRE, we worked solely with senior and executive interim professionals for Head of Finance and CFO roles. We are since expanding with an enthusiastic middle layer of ambitious future CFOs, who are in possession of an (applied) university degree (HBO/WO) and up to 6 years work experience.
We primarily work in technology industries and for companies that undergo change: think of fast growth, mergers, or (international) expansion. In such situations, control over the company’s finances is pivotal. We help our clients to validate their financial strategy and stay in control when their business changes. Call it finance when it really matters!
We are purely content-driven: at FIRE you will only find people who enjoy working in the field of finance and who can interact with our customers on the content level. All projects are monitored by FIRE and you will have an internal mentor to help you if and where needed. Working from our HQ (Haarlem) is an option if your client(s) and the situation allows.

- Applied university (HBO) or university degree in accountancy, finance & control, economics, or business
- Work experience in finance and control (GL accountant, junior controller, financial controller, business controller, audit and assurance). Ideally FIRE is the 2nd or 3rd step in your professional career
- We work predominantly in the The Hague / Amsterdam / Utrecht area, so considering travel time it is most efficient if you live in the surroundings
- Affinity with IT
- Practical accounting and good Excel skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and in writing)
A technical assessment is part of the interview procedure.
