About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a manufacturing company to hire a Human Resources Manager. This role serves as the site leader for all human resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, benefits administration, payroll support, compliance, and policy administration. What You'll Do as an Human Resources Manager:
- Lead all human resources activities, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, benefits administration, and HR compliance
- Manage the full talent acquisition process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and coordination with outside recruiting resources
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, background checks, drug screenings, I-9 verification, and employment documentation
- Support payroll functions including timecard processing, employee status changes, garnishments, deductions, direct deposits, and PTO tracking
- Develop and administer employee training and development programs that support business goals and employee growth
- Respond to employee and management questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and programs
- Administer unemployment, FMLA, disability, and other leave-related programs
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure required labor law postings are current
- Partner with leadership to support workforce planning, compensation, organizational development, and employee engagement initiatives
- Perform additional HR-related duties and projects as assigned
What You Need to Bring to the Human Resources Manager role:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-10 years of progressive human resources experience with a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices
- Experience across multiple HR disciplines, including recruiting, employee relations, benefits, compensation, payroll, workforce planning, and training
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, coach, and communicate effectively at all levels of an organization
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and HRIS/payroll systems #SMNCareers
