The Role
• Support the existing team in the further development of AI solutions and other applications within the Applied AI program.
• Assist in setting up, standardizing, and integrating the Model Context Protocol (MCP) into the existing architecture.
• Contribute to the further development and professionalization of existing AI and web applications, focusing on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Tackle complex technical challenges by conducting research, building proof-of-concepts and prototypes, and documenting outcomes.
• Translate user stories into concrete technical solutions and provide guidance on technical choices regarding architecture, integration, security, and manageability.
• Act as a technical sparring partner for the team, collaborating closely with developers, architects, and product owners.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience as a Senior Developer or AI Engineer in professional settings.
• Proficiency in a modern programming language, preferably Python, with potential for TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with building and exposing APIs.
• Experience working in the cloud, ideally on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience with setting up and utilizing Model Context Protocol (MCP) or a comparable architecture for LLM tool/context integration.
• Experience with generative AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or similar LLM services.
• Familiarity with security, privacy, and ethical considerations of AI in sensitive environments like healthcare.
• Ability to work independently and transfer knowledge to less experienced colleagues.
• Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English.
