As a data scientist in this position, you will drive business impact by developing and deploying advanced analytics and machine learning solutions to support Tesla's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) goals. You will collaborate closely with EHS&S specialists, operations teams, IT applications, and business intelligence teams to uncover insights and drive data-driven decision-making across global business units.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with stakeholders to frame and solve business challenges, identify key opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions to drive EHS&S outcomesDevelop and deploy models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques to drive insights and recommendationsDesign and implement experiments to measure the effectiveness of EHS&S goals and identify areas for improvementCreate data visualizations and reports to communicate complex insights to technical and non-technical stakeholdersStay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data science, and explore new tools and frameworks to keep our analytics capabilities cutting-edgePropose key recommendations to influence business leaders through strong reporting and analytical showcasing, presentation skills, and verbal and written communication
What You'll Bring
Strong background in data science, data engineer, machine learning, statistics, and data analysisDegree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experienceOpen-minded, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude with the ability to think outside the box for solutions to complex challengesAbility to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and strategies to technical and non-technical audiencesStrong organizational, planning, and project management skills to work independently and focusedKnowledgeable in Python, R, SQL, machine learning libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow), and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI); experience with deep learning, natural language processingEagerness to learn about novel ways to make impact in the environmental, health, safety, and security domain; existing knowledge is a plus
