I'm working with one of the largest credit unions, looking for an HR Generalist to join their team!
Location: Onsite in Hampton Roads, VA
Duration: 3-6 month contract to hire
About this role:
- Leads routine employee relations matters, including corrective action processes, documentation, and leader coaching.
- Manage end-to-end leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, personal leave, STD/LTD), serving as the primary contact for employees and leaders, coordinating with the leave vendor, ensuring compliance and accurate records, and escalating complex cases to HRBP as needed.
- Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and leaders, providing accurate and timely guidance on HR policies, programs, and available resources, and refers complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR team member.
- Administers employee benefits programs in partnership with the HR Specialist, including enrollment processing, employee and leader inquiries, vendor coordination, and annual open enrollment support.
Experience:
- 1-2+ years of experience in human resources.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage routine employee relations matters and leave processes with minimal oversight
- Intermediate skills in Excel required.
- SHRM CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
