NextPax is a software company that develops and manages solutions for businesses in the travel industry, such as Booking.com, Airbnb, Marriott and Expedia. We are often a preferred partner for these companies and maintain close working relationships with them. These names are just a small selection of the hundreds of vacation rental and hotel providers on one side, and the websites on the other, that we work with in this exciting industry.
We have offices in The Netherlands, the United States, and Singapore, with a total team of 35 people. About half of our team are developers, many of them based in Almere, while the other half works directly with partners all over the world. At NextPax, we replace manual processes with real-time API infrastructure, helping our partners grow faster and more efficiently.
The RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on AI Engineer to lead the next evolution of our platform. This is a high-impact role where you will be building the "intelligent" backbone of our channel management system.
You won't just be "prompting", you will be architecting and implementing sophisticated AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that optimize how property data, guest communication, and distribution logic flow through our system.
Reporting directly to the CTO, you will work in a tight-knit loop with our CEO and Product Managers to turn ambitious AI visions into production-ready reality.
What you will do- Architect & Build: Design and deploy AI agents and workflows that automate complex tasks in channel management, from content enrichment to intelligent guest messaging.
- Hands-on Implementation: Develop and maintain integrations using different LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and leverage MCP (Model Context Protocol) to connect AI models with our vast datasets.
- Collaborate at the Core: Work closely with the CEO and Product team to define the AI roadmap and ensure technical feasibility aligns with business goals.
- Optimize & Scale: Fine-tune models and agentic workflows for performance, cost, and reliability across our global infrastructure.
- Innovate: Stay at the bleeding edge of AI research, bringing new tools and methodologies to the team to keep NextPax at the forefront of Travel Tech.
What we are looking for- Proven Track Record: You have built and deployed AI-driven features or products that are currently in production.
- Deep Technical Knowledge: You are an expert in LLMs, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and specifically Agentic Frameworks.
- MCP Expertise: Significant experience (or a very fast learning curve) with Model Context Protocol and connecting AI models to secure, proprietary data sources.
- Hands-on Coder: You love to build. You are proficient in Python, Go and/or PHP and have experience with AI orchestration libraries (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI).
- Strategic Thinker: You can navigate the high-level business requirements from the CEO and PMs and translate them into a technical architecture.
