JOB TITLE: Human Resources Trainee
REPORTS TO: Manager of Payroll, Benefits & HR Controlling
Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Trainee supports the day-to-day operations of the TFF Americas Human Resources function while building foundational capabilities across payroll, HR administration, data management, and HRIS reporting. Working closely with the Manager of Payroll, Benefits & HR Controlling, this role assists with payroll processing, maintains accurate employee data, supports onboarding and offboarding activities, and produces reports that inform key business decisions. This position is designed as a developmental opportunity, providing hands-on experience and exposure across core HR disciplines to build a strong foundation for a career in Human Resources.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Payroll & Data Accuracy
- Support the bi-weekly payroll process by preparing and uploading employee data (hours, salaries, bonuses, commissions) in ADP Workforce Now in partnership with the Manager of Payroll, Benefits & HR Controlling
- Work with Manager of Payroll, Benefits & HR Controlling to review employee timecards, validate commission calculations, and identify discrepancies for resolution prior to payroll processing
- Assist with the audit of payroll registers and commission reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper approvals
- Generate payroll-related reports (e.g., payroll summaries, overtime, general ledger) to support accounting reconciliation and financial reporting
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee status changes
- Maintain and update employee records across HR systems (ADP Workforce Now, Oracle, SharePoint)
- Ensure data integrity by performing regular audits across HRIS platforms
- Generate documentation, data entry, and administrative processes related to HR operations
Reporting & Analytics
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, payroll analysis)
- Develop Excel proficiency through hands-on use of formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables
- Learn how to analyze HR metrics and identify trends to support decision-making
Compliance & Governance
- Support HR compliance processes and documentation requirements
- Maintain confidential employee information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism at all times
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1–2 years of HR or administrative experience (internship experience acceptable)
- Strong interest in HR operations, systems, and data-driven work
- Intermediate Excel skills with a demonstrated ability and willingness to advance quickly
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (ADP Workforce Now and Oracle preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with an interest in working with data and reporting
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
