Junior AI Engineer – Freelance – Eindhoven – 2-3 days per week on site - €470 per day
The Role
Designs and delivers end-to-end AI-powered applications and proof-of-concept solutions on Azure, bridging the gap between emerging technology and real business value. You write future proof code, quality code, keeping the future state of solutions and integrations in mind while staying pragmatic and result driven.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement ML and AI solutions, including agentic systems and multi-step reasoning workflows using modern ML and agentic frameworks
- Evaluate and apply emerging technologies and trends to solve concrete business problems
- Architect and deploy Azure-hosted infrastructure and services for AI workloads
- Build full-stack applications using Python (backend/ML) and TypeScript (frontend), from prototype to functional MVP
- Translate ambiguous business problems into modular, maintainable software designs
- Define solution architectures in collaboration with area architects
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert throughout PoC and MVP engagements along side analytics translators
- Validate technology choices against real-world constraints and organizational requirements and limitations
- Communicate capabilities, limitations, and best practices to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Communicate project and technical implementation progress as well as present and discuss results with users and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Production AI project experience is required
- 1+ year of experience designing and developing AI/ML solutions, with a proven track record of delivering production-grade or PoC applications
- Proficiency in Python for backend, ML, and AI development
- Hands-on experience with ML/AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or similar agentic frameworks)
- Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including deploying, managing, and scaling AI workloads (e.g., Azure ML, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service)
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and documentation
Nice to have
- Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
