GuestButler builds the invisible AI host for hospitality.
Our AI agent communicates with hotel and vacation park guests via WhatsApp, handling questions, upsells and operational requests in real time. Not as a chatbot, but as a human-like assistant that feels natural, helpful and on-brand.
The Role
This is not a typical internship.
You’ll operate close to a junior engineer level and work directly on improving how our AI behaves in production.
Your focus is not “training models”, but improving agent quality:
- how responses are structured
- how context is used across turns and systems
- how tone of voice feels per brand and situation
- when the agent should act, escalate or stay silent
You’ll combine engineering, analysis and experimentation to make our AI more human, reliable and scalable.
What You’ll Do
Research:
- Investigate tools and methods to evaluate AI conversation quality
- Break down real guest conversations and identify what works and what doesn’t
Develop:
- Build and test improvements in prompts, agent logic and conversation flows
- Implement guardrails and feedback loops
- Contribute code that turns feedback into product improvements
Collaborate:
- Work closely with product and engineering to ship improvements to production
- Align your work with goals like better integrations, smoother guest journeys and smarter upsells
Who You Are
- MSc student or recent graduate in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or similar (strong BSc can also fit)
- Comfortable writing code (Python, JavaScript or similar)
- Curious about how LLM-based systems behave in real-world environments
- You like figuring things out instead of waiting for instructions
- Able to think in systems, not just outputs
- Clear communicator who can document and explain your work
Nice to Have
- Experience or interest in AI agents, chatbots, LLMs or prompt engineering
- Interest in evaluating AI quality beyond “does it work?”
- Interest in hospitality tech or customer-facing systems
- Experience working with logs, transcripts or real user data
