Human Resources Generalist

Position Overview

A growing and employee-focused organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join its HR team. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and leadership, supporting a broad range of human resources functions with a strong emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and delivering exceptional employee support.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary HR contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on workplace policies, employee concerns, and HR best practices.
Partner with leadership to address performance issues, employee relations matters, and workplace investigations.
Support payroll processing by reviewing employee data, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
Administer employee benefit programs, assist with open enrollment, and coordinate with benefit providers to ensure timely and accurate service.
Help develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness activities, and internal communications that strengthen workplace culture.
Coordinate onboarding, orientation, compliance training, and professional development programs while maintaining accurate training records.
Maintain employee records and HRIS data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Assist with recruiting activities, onboarding, offboarding, policy administration, and continuous improvement initiatives across the HR function.
Promote a positive, collaborative workplace culture while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all employee interactions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Five or more years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist or similar role.
Demonstrated experience in employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, employee engagement, and training and development.
Strong understanding of employment laws, HR compliance, and best practices.
Experience using HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and applicant tracking systems.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
This is an in-office position requiring a full-time onsite presence.

Preferred Experience

Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR).
Experience supporting multiple locations or business units.
Background conducting employee investigations and resolving workplace conflicts.
Experience working within a rapidly growing or evolving organization.
